Professor Koichi Morita Receives the “For People’s Health” Medal from Vietnam’s Ministry of Health

On March 24, 2024, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health awarded Professor Koichi Morita, Director of the DEJIMA Infectious Disease Research Alliance at Nagasaki University, the “For People’s Health” medal. This prestigious award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare in Vietnam.
The award ceremony took place in Vietnam, where former Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, presented Professor Morita with the medal and certificate (as shown in photo).

Professor Morita has dedicated many years to infectious disease research and improving public health in Vietnam. In particular, he has played a crucial role in promoting joint research between Japan and Vietnam on dengue fever and other infectious disease control measures, making remarkable contributions to the field.

This award highlights the deepening cooperation between Nagasaki University and Vietnam, paving the way for further collaborative efforts in the future.
