Symposium and Course on Vaccinology: Science and Public Health 2025

The Vaccine Research and Development Center, DEJIMA Infectious Disease Research Alliance, Nagasaki University held the “Symposium on Vaccinology: Science and Public Health 2025“ from 1 to 5 September 2025. This symposium was held under the sponsorship of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development(AMED)Strategic Centre for Advanced Research and Development (SCARDA), co-organised by the Nagasaki University Graduate School of Tropical Medicine and Global Health (TMGH) and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
In conjunction with the Symposium, a short-term training course on vaccinology, “Course on Vaccinology: Science and Public Health 2025“, was also held over the same period.

The symposium brought together students, researchers, and professionals from multiple sectors of academia, industry, and government to exchange perspectives across the interdisciplinary spectrum of vaccine discovery, development, and delivery to improve global public health. The symposium featured a total of eight sessions held over five days. Participants ranging from students aspiring to work in vaccination to leading vaccine researchers gathered to engage in lively discussions on a wide array of topics on vaccine science and public health.
