The Global Health Joint Symposium

On February 5, 2024, the Global Health Joint Symposium between Nagasaki University and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) will be held at the Nihonbashi Life Science Building in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, where the Tokyo Office of the Nagasaki University DEJIMA Infectious Disease Alliance is located. The symposium will be held in collaboration with the Strategic Center of Biomedical Advanced Vaccine Research and Development for Preparedness and Response (SCARDA) of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), which is a project to establish world-leading research and development centers for vaccine development in Japan.

Under the theme of “Towards a Global Society Resilient to Emerging Infectious Diseases and Other Health Issues,” the symposium will discuss strategies to prepare for the next pandemic, especially from the perspective of vaccine drug discovery, and will share information and discuss ways to build a global society resilient to emerging infectious diseases and other health challenges.
