20was%20a%20significant%20increase%20in%20the%20odds%20of%20basic%20vaccination%20by%20household%20wealth%20%28AOR%3A%203.21%20%282.06%2C%205.00%29%2C%20p%20%3C%200.001%29%20for%20the%20wealthiest%20quintile%20compared%20to%20the%20poorest%20quintile%2C%20antenatal%20care%20of%20four%20or%20more%20antenatal%20care%20visits%20compared%20to%20no%20antenatal%20care%20%28AOR%3A%202.87%20%282.21%2C%203.72%29%2C%20p%20%3C%200.001%29%2C%20delivery%20in%20a%20health%20facility%20compared%20to%20home%20births%20%28AOR%201.32%20%281.08%2C%201.61%29%2C%20p%20%3D%200.006%29%2C%20relatively%20older%20maternal%20age%20of%2035%5Cu201349%20years%20compared%20to%2015%5Cu201319%20years%20%28AOR%3A%202.25%20%281.46%2C%203.49%29%2C%20p%20%3C%200.001%29%2C%20and%20maternal%20education%20of%20secondary%20or%20higher%20education%20compared%20to%20no%20formal%20education%20%28AOR%3A%201.79%20%281.39%2C%202.31%29%2C%20p%20%3C%200.001%29.%20Children%20of%20Fulani%20ethnicity%20in%20comparison%20to%20children%20of%20Igbo%20ethnicity%20had%20lower%20odds%20of%20receiving%20basic%20vaccinations%20%28AOR%3A%200.51%20%280.26%2C%200.97%29%2C%20p%20%3D%200.039%29.%20%5Cn%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%5Cn%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%5Cn%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20Conclusions%20%5Cn%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20Basic%20vaccination%20coverage%20is%20below%20target%20levels%20for%20all%20groups.%20Children%20from%20the%20poorest%20households%2C%20of%20Fulani%20ethnicity%2C%20who%20were%20born%20in%20home%20settings%2C%20and%20with%20young%20mothers%20with%20no%20formal%20education%20nor%20antenatal%20care%2C%20were%20associated%20with%20lower%20odds%20of%20basic%20vaccination%20in%20Nigeria.%20We%20recommend%20a%20proportionate%20universalism%20approach%20for%20addressing%20the%20immunisation%20barriers%20in%20the%20National%20Programme%20on%20Immunization%20of%20Nigeria.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%222024-3-6%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22en%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1371%5C%2Fjournal.pone.0297326%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%221932-6203%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%5C%2F%5C%2Fdx.plos.org%5C%2F10.1371%5C%2Fjournal.pone.0297326%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222024-04-01T01%3A48%3A10Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
